FAMILY PORTRAITS

Der Großteil dieser Bilder waren Auftragswerke, in denen ich gefragt wurde, die Familie in ein bestimmtes Umfeld zu positionieren oder ein gewünschtes Thema hervorzuheben. Manche Familien kenne ich gut, manche habe ich nie kennengelernt. Der Umfang reicht von zwei bis 35 Personen, von Wien über ganz Europa.

Die Familienportraits sind eine Mischform aus Digital- und Ölbild und nehmen alle Bezug auf historische Bilder oder Epochen, die mir dabei halfen, mein gewünschtes Narrativ zu transportieren.

Most of these paintings were done as commissions, in which I was asked to put the family in a particular setting or to highlight a requested theme. Some of the families I know well, some I have never met, and they range in size from two to thirty five. Some are in Vienna and others in different parts of Europe. The family portraits combine a mixture of digital and oil paintings and all reference aspects of historical paintings and periods that I felt helped tell a story relevant to the portrait.
